James 3:16-17

16 For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice.

17 But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.

So I tend to look up verses that pretain to my life at the moment, I find this helps me re-think and re-group. Today this verse is waving its little hands in the air saying “hey you, yeah you…. read this, you NEED it !!!”

Dear Lord,
Thank you for everything you have already given me! Please forgive me when I feel envious of someone else’s looks & worldly things, for all I have is plenty. I know I am blessed by you every day. I do not want my heart clouded by the want of other things in my life. I pray that you clear my mind of the impurities that make me think negative so that I may be boastful in the things I have, beacause I do feel disorder when those feelings arise. Amen

Leviticus 19:18

You shall not take vengeance or bear a grudge against the sons of your own people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the Lord.

Love one another, as God loves us.
God forgives, we need to find it in our hearts to do the same.
As hard as it seems, it will make you feel a whole lot better, mentally and spiritually.

Lord,
I know I struggle with bearing grudges and becoming bitter in a result of it. I have prayed many times for this and you have answered and have lifted heavy loads off my heart, I pray that you continue to work in my life and in my heart so that it becomes easier to forgive to the point where I don’t become bitter. Help me to love better, soften my heart and be able to give to those who need it. Thank you for all the unconditional love and continued blessings in my life.

“He will sit like a refiner of silver, burning away the dross, … refining them like gold and silver…” Malachi 3:3

- I really liked today’s verse, I read it and had it broken down in my head as that God is always working on our hearts, never stopping to make us better like him.

I wanted to read some other peoples interpretations of this verse and found a really a good note by a woman who went over this verse in bible study, she said she couldn’t completely understand the refiner part, so she actually went to a silversmith & asked to watch what he did. She said as she watch the silversmith , he held a piece of silver over the fire and let it heat up. He explained that in refining silver, one needed to hold the silver in the middle of the fire where the flames were hottest as to burn away all the impurities.

She asked the silversmith if it was true that he had to sit there in front of the fire the whole time the silver was being refined. The man answered that yes, he not only had to sit there holding the silver, but he had to keep his eyes on the silver the entire time it was in the fire. If the silver was left a moment too long in the flames, it would be destroyed.

Then she asked the silversmith, ‘How do you know when the silver is fully refined?’
He smiled at her and answered, ‘OH, that’s easy —“when I see my image in it!!!’

It’s written in black and white, God is always watching over us, and he sees his image in us. No matter what we are going through, no matter how hot the fire is, he is walking with us and we should never stop trying to refine ourselves to be more like God.

If you know someone who is going through a bad time in their life, this would be a great verse to have them go over. It always eases my mind when I’m reminded that God is with me through the bad. But don’t forget to give praise to him during the good as well.

Lord,
Thank you for always being by my side, I know that everything that I have accomplished in this life is because of you, I know that all the ruts I have been through I have been able to carry on and become stronger because of you. I have no doubt that you are always with me. I pray that I can become more like you, and remember to praise you for all that you do. I do believe that where a door closes you will open a window. You are so loving and merciful and I do not deserve such compassion. Thank you Jesus

Dear Lord,
This verse hits home in so many ways. I know I worry to an unhealthy level. I ask that through my daily devotions and prayers that I lay all my worries and problems at your feet and with each day remember to lean on you for support. The support to make good clear headed decisions, and the support to act accordingly to daily stressful situations. I ask that you take worry away from my life and replace it with good thoughts and the reminder of putting it all in your hands.

I pray and ask for the worry of job loss for the people I care about to cease and that you will provide a job that is well suited for them.

I pray and ask for the worry of school, jobs, money and relationships to cease and to give me and the ones I care about, peace of mind about the many stresses of this world. Give us a mind of peace about the future, peace about finances and peace for new, old, and struggling relationships.

Lord, I need you and the people I love need you and I know only through you that our worries can be cleared.

Amen
